Be Local Scotland supports the Scotland Loves Local campaign because we both want to create stronger communities and better places in Scotland.
The Scotland Loves Local campaign, spearheaded by Scotlands Town's Partnership, is about thinking local first. We can create better places to live, work and visit when we love local. By loving local we are choosing to back local businesses and build stronger communities. Find out more about the campaign at lovelocal.scot
A community tourism enterprise is a visitor facing attraction or service which is owned/run by the local community for the benefit of the visitor and the local area
When travelling, make a conscious choice to spend locally and if possible with a community owned attraction or service. In so doing that spend will bring great local benefits which are hugely important to these communities, many of which are remote and rural. These could include:visitor information points, community run toilets, local museums and heritage centres, accommodation, cafés, shops and attractions.
Here's some examples of how you can support the campaign and community tourism.
The money you spend on a night in the hostel or pods goes straight to help local young people do modern apprenticeships in hospitality and the running of the youth project. This is a direct impact, and you can sleep soundly knowing you are making a real difference to the lives of the young people in Callander.
